How to Create the Perfect Shredded Brisket Recipe
As one of the tastiest and most filling dishes, shredded brisket is one of the more popular options for a home-cooked meal. Not only does it provide plenty of flavor, but it can also be cooked in a variety of different ways so that it can easily be adapted for special occasions and dietary restrictions. By following this recipe, you can create the perfect shredded brisket that will have your whole family asking for seconds.
Gather the Necessary Ingredients
Before you get started on preparing your shredded brisket, you'll need to gather the necessary ingredients which include an onion, garlic cloves, and beef broth. To give this dish extra flavor, you'll also want to use a variety of herbs and spices like rosemary, oregano, paprika, cumin, garlic powder, and onion powder. Lastly, you'll need one large beef brisket, approximately 5 lbs.
Prepare the Ingredients
Once you have all the ingredients, it's time to get started prepping. Start by preheating the oven to 350 degrees F. Then, cut the onion into wedges and place in the bottom of a roasting pan. Peel the garlic cloves and add them to the pan. Finally, pour in the beef broth until it just covers the onions and garlic.
Cook the Brisket
Next, season the brisket with salt and pepper and place it in the roasting pan. Rub with the herbs and spices. Cover the pan with aluminium foil and bake in the preheated oven for 3 hours. At the halfway mark, turn the brisket over and baste with the cooking liquid.
